The longest journeys begin with a single step. When DUMAK’s founder, Stath Dimakos, opened the door to a small, newly leased warehouse in Montreal, Canada in 2004, he walked in and sat on the floor of the empty offices. He had no idea what type of business would operate from there, he just knew he had to take that first step and secure the location.
Most importantly, he knew that it was the first of many steps and now there was no turning back – just steps forward to success.
STEPS TO SUCCESS
Stath realized from the onset that if he wanted his vision to become a reality, he needed to assemble a team that could execute and push DUMAK forward to fulfill its destiny. His first addition to the team, and probably the company’s most important hire, was recruiting his sister, Maria Dimakos. What she instilled in the company’s culture remains to this day: Be proud of the company, be accountable to the company, and most of all, our strength comes from struggle.
To this very day although DUMAK has grown considerably, expanding from Montreal Canada to becoming North America wide, this mindset remains intact today and fuels DUMAK’s continued success.
NO GROWTH WITHOUT CONTINUOUS EFFORT
DUMAK’s team continued to grow. Everyday, employees outworked the competition, strategized together and won the everyday battles that a company faces in order to stay alive and viable. The employees, and the employees alone, kept pushing DUMAK forward. Small steps every day, continuously, week after week, month and after month, year after year.
Twenty years later, DUMAK’s team is now composed of members from several different countries, with distribution centers across Canada,the United States and Western Europe. We are proud to be one of the highest volume industrial packaging distributors in North America. DUMAK would not be the leader in the industry without its employees. With the help of the DUMAK family, Stath Dimakos and his team have built one of the fastest growing, technologically advanced and most respected packaging companies in North America.
PLANNING FUTURE SUCCESS
As Stath and the DUMAK team look forward, there are endless opportunities ahead. The team is pushing forward with continued expansion in their US locations, ready to offer even more coverage.
